Reading Reflection No.3

Reading Reflection No.3

1) You read about an entrepreneur: Steve Jobs
-       What surprised me the most about Steve Jobs is how successful he is, yet he has no college degree and had somewhat of a rough childhood growing up being adopted and all
-       What I admire the most about Steve Jobs is that he was able to create something so successful and appreciated that is still used till this day, yet he had a background that many people would not thrive from
-       It would be a lie to say Steve Jobs did not encounter failure, which he surely did, because everyone entrepreneur experiences failure at some point which only helps them grow stronger
2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
-       I noticed that Steve Jobs showed compassion, passion, persistence and strong dedicated towards the projects he was working on

3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
-       I find it confusing how Jobs could be so creative and dedicated towards creating Apple, yet though he wasn’t mature enough to run his business alone

4) If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
-       What made you think of the idea of Apple, and how was it bringing your idea to a reality?
-       Do you think your childhood sparked motivation for you to be successful as a young adult?

5) For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work? Do you share that opinion?

-       I think being persistent and creative would be Jobs idea of hard work, and I would say I share similar beliefs about work

  1. Hi Sydney, I also found it interesting that Steve Jobs was not a college graduate. It can put some things into perspective for sure. I also find it interesting that he was creative and visionary yet could not run the business side of his operations, but needed more outside help. I think this shows the value of teamwork. Thank you for providing the report!

  2. Hi Sydney, I chose to read about Steve Jobs for my first reading reflections and i had some of the same feelings as you did. aIt surprised me how genius he was in some aspects, but also not mature enough in others. However, I think that being in his position is something that most of us will never really be able to understand, which just made the read that much more fascinating. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
