Final Reflection

Image
Final Reflection 1) Read through your posts from this semester. Recall all of the experiences you've had a long the way -- the highs, the lows -- the fun moments, and the moments of drudgery, and even the moments of dread. 2) What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing? -         This class most definitely challenged me to go very into detail about my business venture and keep making corrections and implement feedback consistently to make my project better which in the long run is very beneficial   3) At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Now, at the end, do you see yourself as an entrepreneur? Do you think you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset? -     ...

Venture Concept No. 2

Venture Concept No. 2 Opportunity -         The opportunity or the  forces  that drove me to creating this business opportunity was the fact that it is a need I experience personally, therefore I first-hand wanted to see an implementation done -         The target  market  for the addition of booths to Library West would be students who choose this Library as their preferred place of study -         The ideal customers are currently satisfying their  need  by using the products that are available to them right now, even though the selection is very limited thus sparking this need as well -         I believe this opportunity almost presented itself to me and many students would be pleased to find this implementation being done  -         I believe the  window of o...

Exit Strategy

Exit Strategy 1) Identify the exit strategy you plan to make. Do you intend to sell your business in the next 5 years for a large return? Do you intend to stay with the business for several decades and retire? Do you intend to protect the venture as a family business, and pass it down to your children? -         When I execute this business venture, I eventually hope to have a partner join in and eventually have them buy me out and let them take full control of it. The reason is simple, I enjoy the idea if helping UF become more efficient for students in the library, but I don’t necessarily think it is going to be the venture I would on my whole career 2) Why have you selected this particular exit strategy? -         I selected this exit strategy because being young allows me to still find opportunities that I am also very passionate about until I land in something, I will want to keep working on till I r...

Reading Reflection No.3

Reading Reflection No.3 1) You read about an entrepreneur: Steve Jobs -         What surprised me the most about Steve Jobs is how successful he is, yet he has no college degree and had somewhat of a rough childhood growing up being adopted and all -         What I admire the most about Steve Jobs is that he was able to create something so successful and appreciated that is still used till this day, yet he had a background that many people would not thrive from -         It would be a lie to say Steve Jobs did not encounter failure, which he surely did, because everyone entrepreneur experiences failure at some point which only helps them grow stronger 2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?  -         I noticed that Steve Jobs showed compassion, passion, persistence and strong dedicated towards the pr...

Celebrating Failure

Celebrating Failure  1. This semester I had to take business finance, one of the hardest classes in the business school, and it was not an easy time. Although I didn't exactly "fail", the first test I didn't do as well as I hoped. It was hard on me because I had spent so much time and energy studying for this class and to receive a grade so low really bummed me out, even though it was considered a great grade for the first test. 2. What I learned from that is not letting that grade define me. I knew going into that class it was going to be very challenging and I learned how to properly study and allocate my time on certain topics, which is exactly what I did for the following two exams. Reflection After going through all the troubles and times of studying for my class, I learned that I am strong and smart enough to pick myself up and study harder. The results for this showed in my next two exams where each I studied even harder and the test grades show ...

Whats Next?

What’s Next? What’s Next:             I believe the next step for my product would be the implementation of it into the Library West and finally satisfy the needs students have been having for many years now. What has been expressed to me since before is that students would feel more motivated going to study at the library knowing their guaranteed to have a booth and be provided with the comfortable that it brings which will benefit them by getting their studies done in a school environment. Existing Market Interviews: After interviewing my three target market members, I concluded a common theme throughout the course of the interviews. Two of them currently use Library West as their study place of choice and the third likes to go to Newell. The two that go to Library West think the implementation of the single-seater booth is something that beyond excited them and think that should be the next step for my product. Th...

Venture Concept No.1

Venture Concept No. 1 Opportunity: ·        When coming up with a business idea for this course, coming up with an idea that has opportunity and great potential was challenging, but once the idea occurred to me, I knew it well worth it to stick with it ·        The opportunity to create a booth to implement inside Library West on each floor, both the single both and the addition to the collaboration booth, will address the needs of students who find like to find comfort and space when having to study for hours ·        The  potential customers  for my product are UF students who choose to go to Library West to complete their homework and studying ·        The  forces  that have created this need for students is the lack of booths there currently are. With UF accepting thousands of students each year, the potential for more booth space in ...
