Halfway Reflection
1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
o   For this course, I truly believe to be successful you need to have time management discipline. I am taking this course alongside two hard courses, International Business and Business Finance, and if I did not properly plan out my schedule during the week, I am not sure how I would stay on top of my coursework.

2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
o   A moment I definitely have felt like giving up was during my first finance exam. It was very stressful studying for this class alone, and I had to get all my blogs done a week in advance in order to devote my time to studying. I felt like giving up but knew if I planned ahead, I could do everything I needed to get done
o   I definitely think I have developed a tenacious attitude during these past two months. What most contributed to this the most is simply because this is by far the hardest semester for me at UF taking finance and balancing all my other course work, and yet I am doing very well in my courses and I am still motivated to keep pushing through till summer

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
o   I would stick to a firm schedule of when to complete the coursework, because it stares fairly stable on terms of due dates
o   I would definitely use the tools tab that shows previous students’ examples for how to write a specific blog, this has helped me in times I have felt stuck or had writers block

o   Lastly, I would choose topics to write about in which you are passionate about, this will make writing blogs so much easier and quicker and won’t seem like much of an assignment at all

  1. Hi Sydney, thanks for the post. I agree, and included in my post, a firm schedule helps a lot in organizing work for this class. Otherwise the dates will creep up on you. I did not think about looking at other blogs for examples, I think that is a great idea and encourages collaboration in the class. The only drawback to this is it does not challenge us as much to be inventive and creative in our own solutions, so maybe should be moderated and not used all the time. Thanks!
